Jazzkaar Announces Full Lineup Ahead of April 19 Kickoff

Jazzkaar Festival 2025 has released its full schedule, with a program that balances international stars and local innovators. This year’s headliners include Avishai Cohen, Gretchen Parlato, and Estonian jazz guitarist Jaak Sooäär. Special tributes will be held for the late Raul Sööt, one of Estonia’s foundational figures in jazz education.


Arvo Pärt Featured in BBC Radio 3 Special

A new BBC Radio 3 feature broadcast on April 7 dives into the life and music of Arvo Pärt, focusing on the spiritual nature of his tintinnabuli style. Including commentary from Paul Hillier and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the special brought renewed international attention to Pärt’s minimalist sacred works.

Tartu Art House Opens “Post-Mythologies” Group Show

A new exhibition titled Post-Mythologies opened at Tartu Art House, featuring contemporary Estonian artists such as Kiwa, Marge Monko, and Krista Mölder. The exhibition explores the role of myth, identity, and national memory in a post-truth age. Interactive installations and sound art dominate the exhibit, which runs until May 5.


Estonian Classical Artists on the Rise Internationally

Estonian pianist Sten Lassmann and violinist Mari Poll were recently featured in Gramophone Magazine’s “Artists to Watch in 2025”. Both are currently on European tours, with Lassmann performing works by Heino Eller and Poll premiering a new concerto by Tatjana Kozlova-Johannes in Vienna.
