Upcoming Concert: Lopez & Arevalos – Beyond Caravaggio
In conjunction with the Strozzi exhibition, the Kadriorg Art Museum will host a special concert titled Bernardo Strozzi: Beyond Caravaggio on May 10, 2025. The performance features Camilla Lopez (voice) and Matteo Ramon Arevalos (prepared piano and composition), presenting a unique blend of music and visual art. The concert includes video projections of images printed on various paper types, cut into mosaic-like modules, and positioned on the piano strings, bringing to life and transforming images of masterpieces by Strozzi and Caravaggio during the performance. Prior to the concert, from 18:30 to 19:30, short guided tours of the exhibition will be available in Estonian, English, and Russian. The concert begins at 19:30. Tickets are priced at €25 (€20 for concessions) and can be purchased via Fienta or at the museum's ticket office one hour before the event.

Jazzkaar Festival in Full Swing: Estonian Jazz at the Forefront
Jazzkaar 2025 continues with a vibrant mix of international and local acts. Estonian artists like Maria Faust, Kirke Karja Trio, and Sooäär–Yaralyan–Ounaskari trio have drawn critical acclaim for performances blending jazz, classical, and Baltic folk influences. HÕFF 2025 Launches with Nordic Gothic Flair
The Haapsalu Horror & Fantasy Film Festival (HÕFF) begins on April 25, and this year’s theme is “Northern Shadows”, focusing on horror and mythologies from the Arctic and Baltic regions. Premieres include Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu and the highly anticipated Estonian folk-horror film Põhjala Kaja by Kaur Kask.
Puuluup’s New Album “Hüperborea” Drops to Critical Acclaim
Estonian nu-folk duo Puuluup released their new album Hüperborea on April 22, blending traditional talharpa with beatboxing and loop pedals. The album is inspired by arctic myths and imagined geographies, earning praise from European World Music Charts and coverage by Songlines Magazine.
Niguliste Museum Hosts Medieval Meets Modern Exhibition
The Niguliste Museum in Tallinn opened a special exhibition titled Echoes of the Sacred, juxtaposing medieval religious art with contemporary sound installations by Estonian composer Ülo Krigul. The exhibition transforms the church’s acoustics into an immersive sonic experience. Runs through August 2025.
