Australian composer and pianist Andrew Keese has announced the release of his forthcoming album Illuminator, alongside a series of European concert dates set for summer 2025.
Andrew Keese's Illuminator

Illuminator is Keese’s latest full-length studio album and follows his 2023 instrumental release Minutiae. Known for his emotionally rich neoclassical compositions blending piano with ambient and electronic textures, Keese describes Illuminator as his most intimate and conceptually unified work to date. The album was written and developed during his 2024 artist residency at the Arvo Pärt Centre in Estonia—an experience that deeply influenced the sound and structure of the record.

Blending acoustic piano, atmospheric electronics, and minimalist melodic structures, Illuminator expands Keese’s sonic palette while maintaining the subtlety and introspective tone his work is known for. The album has been mixed by Keese himself and mastered by Shawn Joseph, whose credits include artists like Portishead and Jonny Greenwood.

To support the album, Keese will embark on a European tour this summer with synthesist Julian Lyngcoln. The tour will bring the duo’s immersive live performance to intimate venues across Germany, Latvia, and Estonia. The tour highlights include a concert at the Reformātu Church in Riga and a return performance at the Arvo Pärt Centre concert hall in Laulasmaa, Estonia—where much of Illuminator was conceived.

European Tour Dates:

Andrew Keese’s music has drawn comparisons to neoclassical and ambient composers such as Max Richter, Nils Frahm, and Ólafur Arnalds, though his compositions are noted for their understated emotional depth and contemplative pacing. With Illuminator, he continues to bridge classical and contemporary sounds in ways that are both personal and immersive.
