Estonian Quarry Becomes Stage for Vehicle Romeo & Juliet
In a striking theatrical experiment, Kinoteater presented a dialogue-free adaptation of Romeo and Juliet using vehicles as performers—Juliet was a red pickup, Romeo a rally truck—with excavators acting out duel scenes. The production, set in a limestone quarry, blended music (including The Cardigans’ Lovefool) and fireworks to convey emotion and has sparked conversations about the boundaries of modern storytelling.
