With Dreamscapes, music producer Vindu invites listeners into a gentle world where ambient soundscapes and lo-fi warmth merge into something deeply personal. Released via Nettwerk, this five-track EP marks a fresh chapter in his evolving musical journey, one that reflects both creative renewal and emotional growth.

After years of crafting lofi beats inspired by Japanese culture, and a life-changing trip to Japan that culminated in his engagement, Vindu has since relocated from Bosnia to Sweden. This new environment, as well as his collaboration with international artists, has clearly opened new sonic doors. As he shared,

“Dreamscapes was a bit of middle ground… blending ambient and lofi a bit. For the first time, guitar became a big part of the production, along with the piano.”

The result is a serene, introspective collection that feels both like a continuation and a rebirth.

The EP opens with “Wind Chimes,” its title realized immediately through delicate sound effects that set a calm, meditative mood. The electric piano begins a soft harmonic progression, soon joined by a relaxed drum rhythm that feels like the steady breath of a quiet morning. There’s a sense of optimism and comfort here, a gentle awakening that perfectly introduces the tone of the album.

“Kindred Spirit” follows, carried by a tender guitar melody over a soft pad and the faint sounds of nature. The piece feels intimate and nostalgic, like remembering a dear friend or place. The interplay between the acoustic and electronic elements is beautifully balanced, the guitar’s organic warmth complements the shimmering production textures around it.

Then comes “Cloud Pillow,” arguably the emotional center of Dreamscapes, and my personal favorite. Here, Vindu’s delicate guitar work takes on a melodic clarity that lifts the track into a dreamlike yet vivid space. The ambient serenity of the earlier pieces gradually gives way to a downtempo, more structured rhythm, while still maintaining the smooth, ethereal tone that defines the EP. It’s the perfect blend of atmosphere and melody, a track that feels like floating through a sunset haze, half-awake in a beautiful dream.

“Moon Lullaby” deepens the nocturnal atmosphere, opening with the sound of crickets under a soft night sky. A synth line resembling a folk flute dances alongside gentle guitar counter-melodies, layered with subtle beats and airy pads. The result is mesmerizing, a chill-beat nocturne that feels timeless and comforting, evoking the magic of quiet moments before sleep.

The closing track, “Passage of Time,” builds on the continuity of Moon Lullaby’s textures but adds a slightly stronger rhythmic pulse. A warm bass line anchors the piece, while the pads and guitar weave around it gracefully. It’s a fitting finale — reflective yet hopeful — like the last chapter of a peaceful journey through dusk and dawn.

Through Dreamscapes, Vindu explores new horizons without abandoning the core of what makes his music special: emotional sincerity, attention to texture, and a rare ability to translate introspection into sound. As he puts it,

“Everybody needs a rest… and I feel that in the creative department, it hits quite strongly when you are hitting that wall.”

This EP feels like that very rest, a musical breath of fresh air that restores both the artist and the listener.

Dreamscapes is a sonic reflection of transition, peace, and rediscovery. With its blend of mellow guitars, soft beats, and atmospheric storytelling, it reaffirms Vindu’s place as one of the most emotionally articulate producers in the contemporary lofi-ambient scene.
