David POLTROCK is a composer, producer, and sound designer based in Brussels.
In addition to being a member of the venerable Belgian rock band "De Mens," he has worked extensively as a producer and keyboardist with top Belgian and foreign musicians, including Hooverphonic, Triggerfinger, Salvatore Adamo, Portland, Prinz Pi, Monza, and many others.
His 2018 instrumental trilogy "Mutes, Moods & Machines" served as his debut solo release as a recording artist. In it, he shows a preference for quiet piano tones, ominous drones, and pulsing electronica. The popularity of Poltrock's music led to both domestic and international recognition, garnering him the 2019 Belgian "Music Industry Award" for the best musician.
The cinematic initial albums of Poltrock prepared the path for a steadily successful career as a composer for film and television. He provided the music for acclaimed movies like "Wild Gene" (2019) and the Irish documentary "Young Plato" (2021), as well as TV shows like "Studio Tarara" (2019) or "Billie vs. Benjamin" (2022). His work with RAVVEL, "Stay," was heavily featured in the French television program "Il a déjà tes yeux," and his ambient album VACUUM (2021) with Adriaan de Roover was transformed into a mysterious multidisciplinary performance featuring dance, video, and 3D sound.
Poltrock's latest release "Bray Dunes" is an acoustic ambient piece, a combination of cinematic atmospheric music, classical harmony, and ambient music. the piece does not have a strong presence of a melody, but it has a powerful atmosphere that can take you through a calming journey within.
